Working under the general direction of the Town Administrator, the Town Planner will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Town’s planning function in support of the Town’s business requirements. Duties include managing the Planning and Economic Development functions for the Town and supervising the Assistant Planner and Planning Administrative Aide II, moreover reviewing subdivision and site plan proposals and preparing reports and recommendations for the Planning Board. The Town Planner will work horizontally with the Town Engineer and Zoning Administrator for all Land Use matters including managing the Town’s Master Plan and providing support for the Capital Improvements Program.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or similar discipline, Master’s Degree highly desirable, with a minimum of five years related experience including at least two years in a supervisory capacity. American Planning Association member and American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification preferred. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates a strong potential for success in the position will be considered.
A competitive salary up to $120,481 plus excellent benefits effective July 1, 2025. The position is part of the Hudson Police, Fire, and Town Supervisors Association. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
